Day 3/4 (Class Number 2)

Today in science class, we continued building a foundation for the school year by filling in a Time Capsule activity. I asked the students 50 questions that they were to answer honestly on a sheet of paper. They stapled their paper shut and put it in my container that we will reopen in June. The purpose of this activity is to show the students how many changes can occur in within the school year. It is an opportunity for self reflection in the Summer and appreciate their journey during 7th grade.

While we went through the questions, I gave them my answer so they get a background on the type of person I am. I firmly believe that before any group of people can find success, you have to know a little bit about the people you will take the path with.

We finished with a very brief discussion about lab safety rules. During the 2 class periods next week, the students will choose a lab safety rule and create a poster displaying information regarding that rule, which includes proper routines, poor decisions, and consequences of both. I will be providing the posterboard, so please don't go out and by one for your child. The students may bring in any creative utencils/materials they wish. I spoke to them in class about it, as it was listed in the homework window on our board.

Thank you for a great first week and have a wonderful Labor Day weekend!

-Mr. Naylor
